This week 5th graders are learning how to make spreadsheets and getting an economic lesson at the same time. They are creating a spreadsheet to calculate their estimates of the cost of The Twelve Days of Christmas in the classic holiday song. Next week I will have them go to PNC Bank’s Christmas Price Index. Every year since 1984, PNC has been calculating how much it would cost to actually purchase the cascade of gifts in “The 12 Days of Christmas” given to the true love. Will then see how close their estimates are to the real ones and add this information to our spreadsheets as well.
4th grade has started their holiday project, but it a surprise, so mum the word!
3rd grade while increasing their research and information fluency are collaborating as team to explore a different country and learn their traditions and customs. First grade are having fun with another glyph, this time snowmen!
