Happy Thanksgiving

The last months it has been all about Thanksgiving. Fifth grade researched the first Thanksgiving, we made electronic note cards recording what we knew about Thanksgiving, what we wanted to know more about and what we learned. If you would like to learn more about the first Thanksgiving, check out http://www.scholastic.com/scholastic_thanksgiving/. In fourth grade, we talk a lot about gratitude and appreciating our blessings, even the one which at first glance do not appear to be a blessing. We wrote and illustrated I am thankful, because poem verses, see our showcase. Second grade drew their own turkeys in Tux Paint, just using simple shapes. If you can draw a dot, a circle, a rectangle, a triangle, a curvy line and a straight line, you can draw a fabulous turkey! Some samples are in the showcase. First graders had a blast with their Turkey Glyphs.
All grades had a chance to explore some holiday themed links but by far our favorite game was the Thanksgiving Dinner game! Give it a try, it a lot of fun!
